Mickey Asche creates beautiful Louisiana wildlife oil paintings. He has original art and prints for sale, creates murals around the South, attends art shows, and has illustrated two books. Mickey Asche was born in Louisville Kentucky. He moved to Louisiana with his family as a teenager. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina Mickey became immobile because of a knee injury. During that time, he began painting. He taught himself watercolor and soon moved to oils. Growing up in Southern Louisiana, Mickey was immediately drawn to depict the rich wildlife this area has to offer along with the vast number of bayous, marsh and swamps. He has been awarded the honor of being the poster artist for many Louisiana festivals. Mickey is a member of the Society of Animal Artists and has been invited to show in national wildlife shows throughout the country. He now lives in Covington, LA with his wife, Lauren.
